Board Of Management

All members of the Board of Management are drawn from the member organisations that provide community-based counselling services nationally. Annual General Meeting of AACI elects the Board of Management for 3-year periods and a rotation system is in operation.

The AACI Strategic Development Plan covers years from 2014 to 2017.

Development/Outcome 1

Expand and strengthen network of agencies providing professional, low cost, accessible counselling for the community.

Development/Outcome 2

AACI recognized as representatives of members with relevant stakeholders.

Development/Outcome 3

High standards of professional evidence based services provided by members.

Networking National Events

Twice a year the AACI organizes Networking events to bring together member organisations to explore issues of common concern. It is an opportunity to share information, build relationships with each other and have an active role in developing the community-based sector.

Relationship With Tusla, Child And Family Agency

Since 2009, the former Family Support Agency has been funding and supporting the AACI to develop standards and best practice within the community based counselling sector. It has been the principal statutory authority seeking to provide support for counselling in relation to marriage & couple counselling, bereavement & child counselling.

Now under the umbrella of the new agency ‘Tusla’, we are continuing to work closely in consultation, to help us develop further in expanding our membership, producing evidence-based statistics and advocacy.
